Moving to Canada brought a world of new experiences for me and Kary. With every season, we found fresh ways to explore the Rockies, diving into hobbies we’d never tried before—like hiking, backcountry camping, and the most challenging one-snowboarding, which has brought us closer, although it hasn’t been without its trials!🏂⛷️❄️

Our first season on the slopes sparked a bit of tension—who knew agreeing on a wake-up time could be so tough? The following year, it was all about the gear; we both wanted to be comfortable and prepared, but our preferences didn’t always match up. By the third season, the topic shifted to ski passes, weighing the pros and cons of various options and debating the value of each one. Every conversation and every minor disagreement gave us insight into each other’s perspectives, helping us communicate better and understand one another on a deeper level.

Trying new things together keeps our relationship as fun and exciting as when we first met. How do you keep the spark alive in yours?😉

1. The wide-angle lens is perfect for capturing expansive views.
2. It offers high resolution, providing crisp, detailed footage.
3. It’s lightweight and super easy to carry around all the time.

The only challenge, though not specific to the Insta360, is that I’ve captured so many great shots—it’s time-consuming to choose the best ones!

In the Rockies, we’ve got about 3 glorious months of summer, 2 to 3 fleeting weeks of fall, and the rest? Well, that’s basically winter! (Seriously, 13°C used to feel like winter back in Hong Kong! 😂) If Kary could wave a magic wand, she’d stretch out that fall foliage a bit longer—but honestly, everything else is just perfect! 🍁💛

This year, we hit the jackpot with the Lake O’Hara shuttle bus again! The larches are absolutely glowing in their golden glory. To make the most of our adventure, we tackled two stunning trails: the classic Opabin Plateau and the breathtaking Lake McArthur and Big Larches Loop Trail.

It even started snowing in the morning, but you know what? That didn’t dampen our spirits one bit! The views were nothing short of spectacular. Please please, let me come back every year. ^^

Last week, we tackled the Galatea Lakes trail, and what a day it was! We spent a glorious 7 hours hiking, snapping countless photos, and taking well-deserved breaks. The trail led us across 11 bridges, including a thrilling suspension bridge over the Kananaskis River, all the way to the serene Lillian Lake. Feeling adventurous, we pushed on for another 1.3 km to reach Upper Galatea Lake, where we were rewarded with breathtaking views of an alpine valley.

The best part? The trail wasn’t busy, so we had the mountain practically to ourselves, making for a perfect day of hiking and bonding.👭👫

One of the most memorable moments in my photography career happened while I was shooting a couple at Sundance Lake. As I was focused on capturing the perfect shot, a lady approached Kary, and said something that left a lasting impression on me. She told Kary, ”Please tell the photographer I really like his smile. He’s smiling while shooting the couple, which means he‘s really enjoying the job.“

Until that moment, I hadn’t realized how much my passion for photography showed on my face. Her words were a reminder of why I do what I do—I genuinely love my work. That lady‘s kind observation is something I will carry with me, a motivation to keep pouring my heart into every project.

Happy Birthday to me 🎂and happy 10th anniversary of my photography career!📷

🐾 **Meet MiMi and MoreMore!** 🐾

We’re thrilled to introduce our newest family members: MiMi, the adorable little sister, and MoreMore, the wise older brother! 🐱🐱

After much anticipation, we’ve finally settled into our cozy home, and these two furballs have made it even warmer. 🏡

MoreMore, our seasoned older brother, follows MiMi’s lead. Despite his shyness, he’s a fast learner but occasionally slips on his furry paws 🤣. His heart craves companionship, and he guards MiMi with quiet devotion.

MiMi, with her tiny paws and curious eyes, is a bundle of joy. She’s the queen of mischief, climbing curtains and exploring every nook and cranny. But when she curls up in our laps for a nap, all is forgiven. ☺️

As new pet parents, we’re learning the ropes. Yes, they’ve had their share of tussles (those tiny claws can be surprisingly sharp!), but we’re committed to keeping them safe and happy. Our hearts swell with love as we see them cuddle together, grooming each other’s fur. ❤️

PS：In Cantonese, the phrase “咪咪摸摸” (mi1 mi1 mo1 mo1) describes doing things very slowly and clumsily. It conveys a sense of taking it easy or chilling.

The 9 hour drive was challenging, especially in just one day. However, I’m already thinking about returning during the winter season because it looks absolutely breathtaking!

Helmcken Falls, the fourth-highest waterfall in Canada, plunges 141 meters into the canyon below. Compared to Takakkaw Falls in Yoho National Park, Helmcken Falls appears much larger.

👉🏻We experienced Helmcken Falls up close with an 8 km round-trip hike along the South Rim Trail, which follows the Murtle River until it cascades over the falls. Standing there, you can feel the roar of the river and enjoy a bird‘s-eye view of the water plunging deep into the canyon. We were so lucky to witness double rainbows!🌈

We didn’t have time to visit Edith Cavell last summer when we camped in Tonquin Valley. We promised we‘d come back, and we finally did!😎😎😎

Driving onto Edith Cavell Road feels like entering a movie scene, with mountains surrounding you on all sides. It’s such a breathtaking experience! Have any of you ever felt that way when driving through scenic routes?

The Meadow Loop part of the trail is closed until mid-July due to heavy snow, so we only hiked the first kilometer to the glacier viewpoint. It’s a short hike, but definitely worth it for the stunning views. You can also descend to the basin.

Friends, how did you spend your weekend? It was so hot, and it finally feels like summer is here.☀️
